Evaluating/reviewing
final product
My final piece is a stop
motion of a man going down a road and waving at someone who he goes past. I was
influenced by a story called Rip Van Winkle, a story about a man going up a
road. I made a storyboard for my animation which was quite helpful
as it made me know how my animation was going to be like. I created my animation with cardboard and
put it onto adobe premiere after I filmed it to edit it.
I did some
research on the different types of stop motion animation and I used this
research to know which type of animation I wanted to do. I had problems filming the animation as I couldn’t keep the
camera still when taking the photos so the animation looked quite choppy and I
overcame it by using a camera stick. My
product when well I as managed to make a good set for my animation and used all
the models I created. It does communicate well with my ideas as my model is going
down a road (originally a mountain in my plan) and waving a person.
What went
less well was the fact that the models were starting to get damaged and
becoming hard to place them in the slits I put on the road. Also the animation
wasn’t quite short and wasn’t as long as it was meant to be. This could be
because I could’ve added more slits. The ending of my animation looked quite
messy as the camera wasn’t showing a character that I added so I had to move
the camera down. If I could repeat
this process, I would make it longer by added more slits to the road and making
them be closer to each other to make the movement of the models be smoother.
Evaluating/reviewing
your animation
My final animation was a group of fishes being chased
by a shark. I created it by firstly collecting images of fishes from google
along with a picture of the deep sea as the background. I made the background
the first layer and put the fishes in different separate layers so that they
don’t overlap the background. I then created a motion tween for the fishes and
made the move around the background. 65
seconds in created another layer. I then pasted in a shark and made it a key
frame. I made the shark chase the other fishes.
I made a story board and I followed it but not
entirely as I didn’t get to complete the animation. It was useful as it gave me
an idea of how I was going to create the animation.
I created this animation using adobe animate. I mostly used the
classic tween and the motion tween. I also made the fishes and the shark into a
movie clip symbol. I then used the blur tool which is found when you click
filter on properties, click on the plus, and put a high number on blur X
There weren’t any problems I had to deal with when making it due
to having experience with adobe animate. I
believe my animation went somewhat well as it communicated with my ideas a lot.
Unfortunately I didn’t get to finish my animation due to work experience.
If I were to repeat this process, I would make the
story shorter and simpler.
