Creating a story

Tidorov’s Narrative Theory

One day two kids named Todd and Andrew hung out at the park – equilibrium.

Then a bully named Jimmy came and said “Gimme your lunch money punks” – Disruption of the equilibrium. Andrew said “No!” and Jimmy beat up Andrew while Todd watched. – Recognition of disruption. Todd decided to call his brother Tommy to help him with his school bully. The next day Tommy finds Jimmy. “Why are you picking on my brother” he asked. Jimmy ignored his question and knocked Tommy out. Todd and Andrew rushed to check on his brother who was laying on the ground. A teacher saw what happened and took Jimmy to the principal’s office. – Attempt to repair the damage.

The next day Jimmy was expelled from the school for constantly bullying Todd and Andrew. – New equilibrium

Animation Case Study

The animated film I chose was Wallace and Gromit. This was originally a TV programme but due to its popularity they made a film out of it called Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the ware rabbit. Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the ware rabbit is a comedy movie but uses some elements from the horror genre. The type of animation for this franchise is Claymation which is a popular type of animation in the film industry. Claymation is made by creating the characters using clay and move them slightly each picture.  This is known as stop-motion photography.
The producers for this film are Aardman Animations, this company are the original creators of the Wallace and Gromit television show. DreamWorks are the co-producers for the film. They gave Aardman Animations the money to create the film and are also the distributors of the film.
The audience for the movie are global as the company, United International Pictures (UIP) distributed the movie to many different countries.
